Today, I am turning over a new leaf.
I am beginning a quiet revolution.
I am deeply embracing joy, color, creativity!
Oh yes, the want-so-desperately-to distract world remains, but I’m closing the gate to it for a huge part of each day! I want to enjoy the garden of beauty, peace, calm, and life as I am meant to live it.
I invite you to join me.
After listening to an upbeat podcast, I was reminded that I began my own podcast in early 2024 called Encouragement Only by Janis Commentz. I have been listening to episodes morning, and they are good! I share art tips, travel adventures, uplifting words, life lessons and stories of humanity.
Many of you may have missed my podcast episodes when published. Originally, I created the auditory version of each Substack newsletter for those who have difficulty with screentime. I invite you to listen and I will be re-publishing them periodically here!

My podcast is also available on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Rephonic and YouTube.
Remember, what you do with your private time is yours! I know, family, work, many obligations cut into your day, but if possible, carve out a time for nourishment of YOUR mind, body, soul, and spirit.
Perhaps a lunch-break away from a contentious staff. A weekend or afternoon walk in a park or museum.
This week I am turning my joy into resistance (and I am stealing that phrase from a friend - thank you, Meg!) It will strengthen me through the noise. I would love to hear your reactions, tips and how your are countering negative forces.
My bright French Bouquet image is available on greeting cards at my Etsy shop French Press and Mojave Inspiration.
Inspired by all of you!
My daughter and I started our own private effort the day after the election: tiny acts of resistance
It takes opportunities to affirm diversity, equality and inclusion in quiet ways and add beauty and grace to the world. Encouragement fall within this pall as does music, art and poetry for their own sakes. We must persevere.
